Starting at $121.00 a night
750 sqft
Family-friendly creekside retreat on 14 lush green acres of restored wildlife habitat. Stay with us while you attend a tree-climbing course next door at Tree Climbing Planet, or just need a quiet and peaceful place to stay near Oregon City or Canby.

The space is the daylight basement of our home, and includes:

•separate breakfast/family/TV room
•sunroom/dining area
•large private deck with expansive view overlooking Beaver Creek
•private entrance from deck

Please note this is not a complete apartment; it is a self-contained and completely private dedicated guest suite, but while we provide small appliances and a small breakfast area there is no kitchen. Also, while there are beds for six people, more than four may find the space a little tight with the futon in the common area unfolded.

Shared laundry and small home gym (treadmill, rowing machine, weight machine, TV screen, in out-building) are available for use.

All guests are invited to explore the property.

We respect your privacy but we are happily available for questions or assistance if needed.

We provide mini refrigerator, microwave oven, egg cooker, toaster, coffee maker, electric kettle, dishwasher, and propane grill (on deck); also WIFI, flat-screen TV with Chromecast and DVD player. We are happy to stock the breakfast area to your specifications before or during your stay, at cost.

No TV service.

Mobile phone coverage is spotty (don't count on it, especially if your provider is not Verizon).

Please also note that if/when you are out we may access the shared laundry room via the hallway within the space. If you prefer that we don't, just let us know and we will happily procrastinate to respect your preference.

Our outdoor cat, Pete (head of ranch security), does not enter the house. Our dogs, Abby and Otto, do enter the house but not your space. (If you are an animal lover, search for '"a dog's love story" youtube' to see a video about their remarkable history.)

Oregon City , OR , United States

Oregon City is the historic oldest US city west of the Rockies and home of Willamette Falls, the largest by volume waterfall in the US, after Niagara. Our home is just outside the Portland metro area urban growth boundary, so it is in a quiet and peaceful rural region of small farms and forest, but a quick drive to PDX or the best of downtown Portland. 1hr 20min to Mount Hood's Timberline Lodge, 1hr 50min to Cannon Beach.

Loved IT!!!

Date of Stay:

My husband and I stayed at Newt Wash for 4 nights and truly enjoyed our stay. The apartment is just as advertised. It is beautiful & clean, and very much in the country, which is just what we wanted. It was quiet and peaceful. You would never know you are just minutes away from town. I loved the shower head in the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. We had breakfast every morning, coffee, bagels, toast. Our last morning we walked all of the trails that we could find. It is a beautiful piece of property! Thank you for opening your space!

We loved this little gem

Date of Stay:

We came to town for a wedding at the Ainsworth House and Gardens and this lovely place was 4 miles away. The owners live above but are very nice and helpful. It is private and cozy. We loved going on an adventure walk and finding slugs! The beds were cozy and the shower was hot. My kiddos loved it. Also, this place was cheaper than surrounding hotels! Would definitely stay again.

Idyllic, Peaceful Retreat

Date of Stay:

This property is so lovely, nestled in the trees, among small farms, it is very peaceful, and all you hear are birds singing. It really is in a beautiful setting. The property itself is very cosy, clean and comfortable, and we had everything we needed for a great stay. The property owners are very friendly and accommodating. This is a hidden gem, and we wouldn't hesitate staying there again.

Cozy, comfortable, and quiet.

Date of Stay:

A beautiful apartment below a home on several acres of forested land. Cozy, comfortable, and quiet. Friendly owners.

Quiet base camp for busy travelers

Date of Stay:

I stayed at Lisa and Tom's property with two colleagues for 5 nights while we were taking a tree climbing course nearby. We felt fortunate to have a quiet and peaceful apartment to return to at the end of long days. The two bedrooms + living room with sofa fully accommodated our party of 3 adults. I imagine this apartment would also fit the needs of a vacationing family or group of friends quite well, as long as you don't need a full kitchen. Lisa and Tom were incredibly responsive hosts, and have done a wonderful job of outfitting the apartment with amenities (we didn't have time to use the fitness center, but it looked great!). The property itself was gorgeous with some on site walking trails, while still being conveniently within reach (< 15 min) of grocery stores and only a half hour drive from Portland. I would definitely recommend this listing to other travelers!

Serene Surprise

Date of Stay:

Newt Wash Wildlife Ranch has everything one wants in a home away from home. It is roomy, clean, furnished and stocked with upscale linens and accessories, and in a spectacular woodland setting. It is an easy halfway between Canby and Oregon City. This is a place to remember.

Pure Magic!

Date of Stay:

[Note: here is a sample of one of our Airbnb reviews. See them all at then book directly with us to skip Airbnb service fees-- we will always match Airbnb's base rate for your dates if it is lower.] Pure Magic! Sums it up nicely ;). Lisa's place is located a short distance from Portland (stone's throw from Oregon City) in a beautiful, serene, wooded area in the middle of OR wine country. The beds are super fluffy and comfi: breathing in the crisp, fresh 'n "piney" September air while night critters sang me an OR Lullaby, I truly slept like a (well-fed) baby with the windows wide open every night. Delightful. The apartment has a nice sitting area, great bathroom, wonderful deck, and a roomy laundry room (plus dw), which came in handy as I booked for a friend's wedding and needed to look the part. The place is SUPER CLEAN. One of the best maintained I've stayed at. Hosts are wonderful: super fast replies, accommodating/helpful, and much more. Lisa's place made me realize how much I miss seasons, woods, green natural environments: I'd move in if I could, hahaha. You won't regret staying here when visiting Portland!
